Identification of Benefits Associated With Sustainable Infrastructure
Analysis of the potential opportunities that sustainability brings to infrastructure projects in Peru
Sinfranova provided technical assistance to The Nature Conservancy in analyzing the potential opportunities that sustainability brings to infrastructure projects in Peru.
The consultancy project was divided into three main tasks:
(i) analyze the results of integrating a sustainability approach in the development of infrastructure projects in Peru,
(ii) identify opportunities to include environmental and social sustainability in the evaluation of infrastructure investment projects in the energy and transportation sectors in Peru, and
(iii) develop case studies to analyze the consequences of adopting an insufficient or inadequate sustainability approach when developing infrastructure projects in the country. The projects selected as part of this work include “Hidrovía Amazónica”, “International airport Chinchero”, “Chadin 2 Hydroelectric Power Plant”, “Highway Iquitos - Saramiriza” and “Conga Cajamarca mining project”.
