Panel discussion: "Resilient Infrastructure Services in Latin America and the Caribbean: From Theory to Practice"
Dates
Washington, D.C. April 23rd, 2026
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) organized this hybrid event to bridge its Infrastructure and Energy Sector's knowledge on resilient infrastructure with operational practice across divisions. Building on the findings of the flagship report "From Risk to Reliability: Resilient Infrastructure Services to Face Nature's Challenges", the event convenes senior IDB specialists across energy, transport, water and sanitation, and social infrastructure to explore how resilience considerations are being integrated into project design and implementation across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Cristina Contreras, CEO & Founder of Sinfranova, participated in the panel "Resilience in Practice", alongside Laura Rojas Sánchez, Chief of the IDB's Disaster Risk Management Unit, moderated by Tomás Serebrisky, Manager of the IDB's Infrastructure and Energy Sector. The panel connected analytical frameworks and policy tools with practical approaches to strengthen service continuity, manage climate and disaster risks, and scale up resilience across the IDB's portfolio.
This participation reflects Sinfranova's ongoing engagement with multilateral institutions in shaping the operational agenda for resilient infrastructure in the region.
