The Federación Mexicana de Colegios de Ingenieros Civiles (FEMCIC) organizes its 40th Annual National Conference in Guanajuato, Mexico. The event annually gathers more than 450 experts from the civil engineering field.

The umbrella topic of this year's Conference is "Challenges for the development of sustainable civil engineering." During this annual congress, Cristina Contreras –Founder and Managing Director of Sinfranova– discussed the vision of sustainable infrastructure in Mexico. During her intervention, she focused on the business case for sustainable infrastructure and how projects developed sustainably are more likely to face fewer risks and conflicts. Also, she highlighted the critical role of the engineering community in leading the infrastructure agenda and the much-needed change of paradigm.
