Sinfranova co-authored the white paper “Giga AI Data Centers: Future-Proofing Physical Infrastructure for Sustainability and Resilience”, alongside Denise Nelson Advising LLC, Atlas Initiative for Critical Infrastructure, Climate Risk Institute, and Sustain360°™.
-
The paper addresses the urgent challenges facing the U.S. data center industry as demand for AI-driven digital infrastructure continues to accelerate.
-
It highlights how standards such as ASCE 73-23, the Envision framework, and the PIEVC Protocol, combined with tools like Sustain360°™, can embed resilience and sustainability into early design.

As AI technologies expand at an unprecedented pace, the demand for digital infrastructure is accelerating. Data centers are becoming the backbone of this new era, but with that comes enormous responsibility: energy and water demands, emissions, supply chain risks, and community challenges that cannot be ignored.

In this context, Sinfranova joined a team of global experts to co-author a paper that offers a new way forward. Our contribution drew lessons from sustainable infrastructure projects worldwide, focusing on lifecycle carbon accounting, community engagement, and Envision-based practices. These approaches are more than just technical fixes; they are about building trust, reducing risks, and ensuring that infrastructure truly serves people and the planet.
A standards-based pathway for resilient digital infrastructure
The paper highlights how combining the ASCE 73-23 Standard Practice for Sustainable Infrastructure, the Envision framework, and the PIEVC Protocol, operationalized through the Sustain360°™ platform, can help investors, designers, and planners.

-
Secure community support
-
Quantify and reduce Scope 3 emissions
-
Strengthen supply chain resilience
-
Align with federal compliance and incentive programs
-
Accelerate approvals and permitting

At Sinfranova, we believe that the future of digital infrastructure must be both sustainable and resilient. By embedding these principles from the earliest design stages, Giga AI Data Centers can go beyond efficiency to become future-proof assets for communities, economies, and the environment.
