In-person workshop to build capacity on sustainability standards and certification schemes
As part of the technical assistance provided in collaboration with GIZ to integrate sustainability into Senegal's planning and project preparation processes, Sinfranova’s team members facilitated in-person workshops in Dakar on August 6 and 7, 2025.

These sessions aimed to raise awareness and build capacity on sustainability standards and certification schemes among representatives and partners from the Unité Nationale d’Appui aux Partenariats Public-Privé (UNAPPP). Delivered in French, the two-day workshop combined both theoretical and practical components.

Day one set the stage with big-picture thinking, immersing participants in the different innovative approaches for building sustainable infrastructure, with particular emphasis on certification systems such as FAST-Infra and Blue Dot Network. The session provided an in-depth exploration of both systems, as well as examples of their implementation in the region.

Day two was focused on implementation as participants rolled up their sleeves to apply FAST-Infra and the Blue Dot Network framework to a simulated project scenario. The workshop concluded with a plenary exchange of lessons learned, enabling participants to identify the potential benefits and challenges of incorporating each rating system into infrastructure projects.
