Development of regional workshops in Peru to inform the development of Territorial Notes
As part of the Territorial Notes project developed for Peru’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Sinfranova and The Nature Conservancy organized six in-person workshops across the country between April 1 and 16, 2025. Held in Lima, Huancayo, Moyobamba, Iquitos, Arequipa, and Cusco, these sessions brought together public, private, and civil society stakeholders to discuss the main productive potential and infrastructure needs of each macrozone.
In Lima–Callao, participants stressed the importance of consolidating the area as a sustainable logistics hub with improved multimodal transport, water security, and climate-resilient urban planning.

In the Central Macrozone (Huancayo), priorities included modernizing the Central Highway, expanding regional airports, protecting mountain ecosystems, and boosting agro-industrial value chains.

In the Northern Macrozone (Moyobamba and Iquitos), discussions focused on balancing economic growth with forest conservation, securing Indigenous territorial rights, expanding renewable energy, and improving multimodal transport to connect the Amazon with markets.

In the Southern Macrozone (Arequipa and Cusco), participants explored opportunities for productive diversification, sustainable tourism, renewable energy expansion, and modernization of rural and urban infrastructure.

These workshops generated valuable regional insights and strengthened collaboration among diverse actors to shape a shared vision for Peru’s infrastructure development toward 2050.
