Sinfranova team members provided technical assistance to support the development of a sustainable infrastructure methodology
In May 2022, the Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE as per their Spanish acronym) awarded the ALIDE 2022 prizes. These awards recognize and promote innovation and good practices among development financing institutions.
BANOBRAS received the recognition “ALIDE Verde” 2022 category for the “Digital Tools for Sustainable Infrastructure”, available within the Mexico Projects Hub platform. “ALIDE Verde” is a special award that recognizes the initiatives from Latin American Development Banks that promote sustainable development and promotes economically viable, socially fair, and environmentally responsible solutions.
What is Mexico Projects Hub?
Mexico Projects Hub is an initiative from the Federal Government of Mexico operated by the National Bank of Public Works and Services (Banobras as per their Spanish acronym), in close coordination with entities and agencies of the public and private sectors.
The digital platform, which includes the main infrastructure and energy projects —new and in operation— in Mexico that require the participation of the private sector, seeks to link projects of different infrastructure sectors with national and foreign investors, thus promoting long-term financing.
Sinfranova's contribution to the Mexico Projects Hub initiative
In 2018, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) commissioned members of Sinfranova to support the development of a sustainable infrastructure methodology that would allow the classification of infrastructure projects within the Mexico Projects Hub platform according to their sustainability performance. As such, Sinfranova team members developed a 30+ indicators methodology that has been applied to more than 150 projects as of today.
