Tool to evaluate the sustainability of PPPs in Colombia
This project aims to first, incorporate climate risk mitigation and adaptation strategies into the lifecycle of infrastructure concessions, and second to identify a tool to classify the level of sustainability of transportation assets. The outcome of this project was incorporated into public policy in Colombia in 2021 and named "Policy for the development of sustainable transport infrastructure projects. 5th generation of concessions".
WHAT IS NEW?
TRIPS FOR KIDS!
This project is aimed to create a sustainable infrastructure strategy at the institution-wide level through the development of a sustainability action plan and associated tools for implementation.
This technical assistance had four main objectives: (i) increase the institutional capacity of FONADIN, based on an initial diagnosis of their policies and corporate processes, (ii) strengthen current financing schemes, processes, and methodologies used for project development to ensure that sustainability is incorporated into the early phases of project selection and development, (iii) integration of sustainability practices into concessional contracts in transportation project, (iv) capacity building.
